My life changed in 2000, when I went online. Like many people, I stopped reading books as I struggled, almost every night, with html. But since 2007, I have set aside at least a few hours every week for the printed word. You will find the books I have read recently at Good Reads. Please vote for my poems at Good Reads' My Writing, where there are two of my better efforts. – Alan Ireland
Welcome!
The Maneki Neko (まねき ねこ) literally "Beckoning Cat"; also known as Wel- coming Cat, Lucky Cat, Money Cat, or Fortune Cat) is a common Japanese sculpture, often made of porcelain or ceramic, which is believed to bring good luck to the owner. The sculpture depicts a cat (traditionally a Japanese bobtail) beckoning with an upright paw, and is usually displayed – many times at the entrance – in shops, restaurants, pachinko par- lors, and other businesses.
